Bigger Search Box – Official J.Cash Opinion
We all know that a few weeks ago Google finally made an update to their homepage. News spread like wild fire. I couldn’t go anywhere industry related online that wasn’t talking about it. Now we both know that all they did was make their search box larger (they called it “super sized”). Along with that the text became larger. And…..well that was it.
I read their version of why the “big” change which let me to believe it was an April Fool’s joke. I checked my calendar and it wasn’t April. They stated “it symbolizes our focus on search and because it makes our clean, minimalist homepage even easier and more fun to use.”. I am not sure about all of that but I was sure that there had to be another reason. So I sat back and waited. I wanted to see what impact this amazing change was going to make on me.
It has now been two weeks and nope that is it. I have not seen any variation in our PPC traffic volume or the traffic quality. The official J. Cash opinion is there is at least one overpaid exec at Google that needed a project to fill their time. They are probably now looking for a job. Hey, I heard Facebook was hiring.
