Facebook Ads Summit

As some of you guys know, Pimps were out in force at the first ever Facebook Ads Summit.  I just wanted to make a quick post to thank the entire Facebook team for the hospitality they showed us while we were he on the left coast.  It was good to see everyone we had met before again, put faces with names of others we have been working with on different projects and meet the new team members.

There were two separate days of the Ads Summit.  The first day was actually at the Facebook office.  It was very interesting to see the new digs now that they are all together under one roof.  A few interesting points:  You do have to sign a NDA before you get to walk past the reception desks – there are two security guards there to make sure of it.  The in-house restaurant, Cafe X, is OTC (off the chain for some of you guys).  We ate both lunch and dinner there and both were superb.  Day 1 we realized that we were the only affiliate marketers there.  We represented for all of us though.  The agencies and in-house ad teams kept coming up and asking what we did/who we were with – I just replied “I slang dem berriez”.  The old guys typically walked away confused.

Day two we think there was at least one other affiliate team there.  They looked and acted more like us.  At Least they were in sneakers and tee shirts.  This was another very informative day that was held at Morton’s in San Fran.  We had a few break out sessions where they went over info that pertained to specific businesses.  Facebook had a few execs come in and talk about the 12-24 month plan for Facebook Ads and Facebook in general.  We ended the day by taking the Facebook Ads affiliate team to dinner, highlighted by the Manager of Online Sales Operations singing to us.

I have a ton of info to share and I will get that done once we are back home and I have enough time to digest it all.  As affiliates, you should take from this posts that we are a small part of their business.  Brands, agencies and offer owners do a bulk of their ad dollars.  At the same time they value us on an equal scale, you just have to work with them and not against them.

Also, as part of our Facebook swag they gave us, I was given a $50 Facebook Ads credit code.  I will be coming up with a way to give them away on the blog somehow.  I will figure out an interesting way to reward one of our readers with the code.    J.Cash

Hello,

Just curious. What does it take to have the exclusive privilege to “rub shoulders” with the Facebook team?

last month it cost about a million dollars.

What is your first name? I can’t seem to find your name on Forbes400 ;P

privately owned company FTW

All your Facebook Ads credit codes are belong to me.

of course

I didn’t see you at Ad Summit? What table were you at?

“All your Facebook Ads credit codes are belong to me.”

Haha, Epic comment.

@Abrom – I assume you are talking about day 2. We were at the table dead center up front with Sarah from Facebook, the Zoosk guys (umm you?) and the dud() from AEG. I think M2the Risa wanted us to meet the other affiliate teams that were there after dinner but we had prior plans.

Looking forward to the follow up post. How much volume do you have to do with fb to be ‘whitelisted’ and do rebills etc. I know you guys did 1 mil, is that the threshold or what?

you are not supposed to know about any “whitelisting” and I meant about a M. To get 1/1 support you just need to hit their minimum threshold daily spend and not being trying to scam the system. The more legit you and your business is the more support you will get.

“To get 1/1 support you just need to hit their minimum threshold daily spend”

What is their minimum threshold daily spend?

I am not sure – think its a few thousand – but it is more than that. You need to be compliant and not trying to scam the system. If you are all of these things let me know and I can hook you up with an intro.

Hmm… would using the FB Ad Manager be considered trying to “game” their system and thus disqualify me from getting 1/1 support? Without the FB Ad Manager, how did you manage to do so much volume?

@JCash — yeah, that was me. It looks like we sat right next to each other and didn’t say a word.

We did it without the help of FB ad manager. They do have tools in beta that def help getting volume though.

@Abrom I talked to your partner. We are going to look at your offer in one of the networks prob azoogle since you don’t work directly with affiliates.

Yo J.Cash I want to get a rep. Can you hook me up with one? Last month I did about 50K$ in spending and asked on their live support if I could have a rep, but to no avail.

Thanks bro

Are you the “volume10″ on wickedfire? can i PM you if i’ve got any Questions?

Appreciate a ton man!

unfortunately I am – def hit me up. I love to talk shop with folks that actually don’t mind a discussion.

@JCash — when you get a chance — can you hit me up via email
