Get Off Zynga’s and Facebook’s Nutz

Seriously, after WrechedCrunch started stirring the pot about how people were getting scammed in social games (namely Zynga’s games), it seems a day doesn’t go by where we don’t see a different iteration of the story from a new media outlet.  All of them quoting one and another and further fostering the storm.  They got turncoat Yu to do a guest post that also pissed off affiliates as he highlighted affiliate marketing in yet another negative light.  Thanks – we needed that.  They pulled OfferPal into the mix saying that they were responsible for pushing these “scam” offers on Zynga’s hugely popular Facebook games.  And they threw Facebook under the bus with every else they could get their hands on because they didn’t like the way Facebook was policing their site and the advertisements on their platform.

First WrechedCrunch, why all the hate?  Did daddy not hug you enough?  Get off Zynga’s and Facebook’s nuts.  And of course it didn’t take long for some attorney’s office decided that this would be a great idea to get their name in the media and defend the good of the people.  Supposedly a Sacramento based law firm is pulling together a class-action lawsuit against Facebook, MySpace, Zynga and a hand full of other companies.

Who really got scammed?  When did it become everyone else’s responsibility to cuddle and take care of every consumer.  I believe in consumer rights but damn has everyone forgotten about consumer responsibility?  No one forced these people to do these offers.  They did so to advance in whatever game they were playing.  They didn’t have to in order to advance but they choose to.  They CHOOSE to!  Why can’t they be responsible for their own actions?  And to Facebook and Zynga and OfferPal, stop rolling over every time there is a little bad press thrown at you.  It just empowers the sheeple to throw more.  /rant
